The first attempt at a 50-miler. Admittedly, the first attempt at a training plan. And what I presume to be a 24-week journey of big ups and, I’m sure, gigantic downs.

Week 1: The ‘It’s Training Time’ Ultrastoke
The snow-covered trails were slick and the hills of our route were grand, but none of that seemed to matter. It was Day 1 of Squamish training, and I had my girls to frolic with (and at the end of it all, make snow angels with).
It was the type of day where camaraderie, energy and spirits were all running high.
I was happy to be out, happy that training had brought me there, and super happy to have the company of our little running crew.
