Little Moments #11

The moment you step into an adventure, there is a string of events that will inevitably take place. With them can come moments of challenge, exhaustion, and sometimes despair. But if you look hard enough, below the surface lie the hidden gems that make the struggle all worthwhile. Those little moments that say: ‘Hey outside! I’ve won.’

Join FLL for your dose every Monday morning.

11. When you emerge from the tent to realize you’ve finally outsmarted the absolute smartest of raccoons.

Morning 1:  You find the latch on your pot is open and your leftover couscous is gone (that dextrous little rascal).

Morning 2: Your bagels are missing but the tattered bag remains, despite hanging everything from a carefully chosen tree branch (this is no longer your ordinary front-country nemesis…).

Morning 3: Your hour-to-assemble, intricate network of a bear-hang worked. You rifle through the food pack to find that nothing is missing and everything is intact (by this time, your food stores have dwindled and there’s nothing left that appeals to the woodland creatures. But you know it your heart you’ve won the war).

Third time’s a charm.
