Little Moments #15

The moment you step into an adventure, there is a string of events that will inevitably take place. With them can come moments of challenge, exhaustion, and sometimes despair. But if you look hard enough, below the surface lie the hidden gems that make the struggle all worthwhile. Those little moments that say: ‘Hey outside! I’ve won.’

Join FLL for your dose every Monday morning.

15. When you see your friend’s reaction upon arriving at the spot you’ve been yearning to show them.

There’s something special about discovering a new ‘ahh’ place: that beautifully meandering trail you want to run over and over again; that secluded overlook you just didn’t expect to see; or perhaps that little mountain town you’re convinced knows your soul inside and out.

Then there’s the magic that happens when you share it with someone special.

You feel their energy when they love the trail just as much as you do; you see their eyes light up as they absorb the view below; you hear the gasp as their gaze falls on the gentle peaks in the far-off distance.

You’ve shown them a place that they now love too.

Bonus points: you’ve also just created a memory.

  1. Love this! It’s so true, too. I used to live in NYC, now I live in LA. The first time I took my boyfriend to all my favorite spots in New York was magical. It was March and he’d never seen snow fall before (he’s originally from LA). I will never forget the look on his face when it started snowing. And all through the week I’ve never had so many snow ball fights in my life!
